Time Management Guide for Writing Essays

A mediocre essay will have little to no planning behind it, while a good quality essay always has good planning and management, hence the time saved in completing the essay.

In writing an essay, one should aim for at least 10 minutes of planning before starting on any sentence or paragraph. This is to ensure that essay writer plan well for what you want your essay to be about before you start writing. Some people wrongly think that less time could be spent as long as they work hard in writing their essays but this is a very wrong notion since the outcome of the whole thing depends on how much you have planned for writing the first sentence.

Important Steps:

Step 1: Once you get your topic(s) (directions), read through them carefully to understand what the topic is asking for. Highlight and underline key words that will help you to remember which keywords are important in your essay

Step 2: Make a chart with main points of your essay, this helps you quickly identify how much space each point will take up in your essay .e.g for instance:"Health care system" as a topic may need 3 paragraphs in an analytical paper, so it therefore takes up 3 lines/spaces in the chart

Step 3: Look at appropriate sources (which I'll talk about later) to help you with your essay outline if necessary, depending on how detailed or specific your topic is. Go through them briefly multiple times before taking notes from it then write down what you think are the main points, sub-points and important details while write my essay that you'll be using in your essay; Highlight, underline and circle words/sentences equally in keywords and supporting materials

Start writing the first draft of your essay once all these steps are done. (I usually have a rough idea of what I'm going to write beforehand so I do this step before taking notes from any sources)

Step 4: Write out or print out the completed first draft on paper to read through it then make corrections where necessary. The aim is to produce an "ideal" version of your essay, if there are still mistakes after this point ,refer back to previous steps and find out why they weren't caught earlier on.

Step 5: If you are not satisfied with your essay after reading it for a second time, try improving or making corrections on it using another method. For example, take notes from other sources related to your essay ,re-read notes and compare them to your first draft; look up more words in dictionaries or check proofreading guides online.
